5 ways to refashion your old bikini

The warm days are approaching very quickly. We are all in the rush for buying summer clothes, swimsuits, light dresses etc. There’s always a piece in your closet that you think it’s out fashioned. So, why not renew it? It’s always a great idea to put some money aside instead of spending them. I bet you have a few swimsuits that you don’t wear, because you think they are no longer fashionable.

Whether it’s a one-piece suit or not, with a few details here and there, you will have a totally new swimsuit. You’d be ready for the summer days in no time. Here are 5 ways to refashion your old bikini .

  1. Adding small cut to a triangle top bikini

    – With a non permanent marker, draw 2 triangles in the upper quarter of the triangle top. Leave a space in the middle of the two shapes you draw, so there will be a non cut out space about the width of the sides of the bikini top. Cut out the small triangles as cleanly and evenly as possible, making sure to not cut all the way across the middle, or else you will lose that strip of fabric. Seal off raw ends with clear nail polish.

  2. Transform a boring one-piece into a monokini

    – MaterialsOne-piece bathing suit, scissors, fabric chalk, needle and thread, a key chain ring. Pull the bathing suit over a box or a chair to stretch it out. Mark with the chalk were you want to cut out at the waist, leaving a 10 cm piece in the front center. Cut as cleanly as you can along where you marked with the chalk. Pull and pass the lower part of the bathing suit through the key chain. Sew near the key chain so it won’t move around and do the same with the top part of the swimsuit.

  3. Add lace to your swimwear

    – Things you’ll need: Swim suit, lace, needle and thread, sewing pins, stitch witchery tape, scissors. Figure out what colors you love together. Find colors that compliment each other and head to the fabric or craft store. Adding lace to your swimsuit will make the perfect combination for this summer.
