For this DIY Lacing up a Plain T Shirt project you will need an old T Shirt, piece of thick lace or ribbon, a pair of scissors, pins and a sewing kit or a sewing machine.
Start by pinning the piece of lace (or ribbon) around the collar of the T Shirt. Then hand stitch (or use a sewing machine) to go around the top and the bottom. When you are doing this, be careful not to sew both sides of the shirt together.
The next step is to cut straight lines into the angles of the T Shirt collar so that the remnant parts can be easily folded down. Then stitch the folded pieces down behind the collar. The additional layers help to give your faux collar more support.
